How Do I Meet People?
Our church is not a place for spectators. It is a place for team members. Whether you are a five-year old child, a ninety-five year old grandmother, a busy mom, or a businessman with big responsibilities, we want you to be a part of our vibrant church community. Here is how you can learn, serve, and grow at this church.
Youth Camps We provide opportunities for all of our kids from third grade through high school to attend summer camps here in Oklahoma. These camps provide opportunities for kids to enjoy many fun filled activities, training, spiritual growth, great food and maybe even a little sleep. Our students come home exhausted and ready to go back the next day.
Youth Ministry Each Sunday morning, children get to participate in their own classes. Bible lessons are taught in such a way that every child gets to participate and learn. We have the most dedicated children’s ministry workers in the area. We have a vibrant youth ministry. The youth ministry of our church is recognized for their meaningful interaction with kids.
Young Adults Life can get complicated once you cross that ominous threshold into adulthood. There are complicated decisions. Bigger stakes. Serious relationships. And a whole lot more decisions. This is the area of our church in which we are most excited because we see so much potential for growth. If you are a Millennial we want you to feel at home here.
Women’s Group We have a great women’s ministry. We are affiliated with our denominations ministry known as Women Active for Christ. Each Sunday morning we have two classes available for women to come together to study and learn from the Word of God. We also host an Annual Women’s Conference in January. All women are encouraged to attend.
Men’s Ministry We have a wonderful group of men who love the Lord and enjoy being around each other. We have recently begun a new men’s ministry that brings men together once a month for an early Sunday morning breakfast and devotional time. We plan events, outings and work days and fellowship with another. We call ourselves “The Accountables.” All are invited!
Married Couples Even though marriage is one of the most important institutions, it is the one which is under the most attack–internally and externally. The church gives married couples the opportunity to serve the Lord together. We strive to be a church that encourages couple relationships, family relationships and interaction with friends and family that are just like you.
Over 50’s Once you get past fifty, the fun has just begun. Whether retired, just plain tired, or active as ever, the over-50 group of Checotah First Church provides refreshment, ministry, and times of valuable interaction. We have a fellowship/game night each month where we gather to eat, play games, encourage one another and eat! We also provide opportunities to just be yourself..
